Note:- Download from Putlocker link.

Method 1:- Description :-
After copying the Files.
Go to Documents/My Games/Skyrim folder and find SkyrimPrefs.ini
Paste This line Under Launcher—bEnableFileSelection=1

Method 2:- A recap of the steps I took to get Dawnguard installed and working by following the general steps below:
1. install update 9
(
2. install patch 7
(
3. copy the extracted two dawnguard files (dawnguard.bsa and dawnguard.esm) to the Data folder in your skyrim install folder.
(my game is installed to E:GamesSkyrim so the 2 files needed to be dropped in E:GamesSkyrimData)
4. At the Skyrim Launcher, go into Data Files and check the Dawnguard.esm option to Load. If Data Files is greyed out follow steps 5 and 6.
5. Locate or search for the SkyrimPrefs.ini file that should be under your My Games subfolder. For example, mine is located at:
C:UsersELOCKLORANMy DocumentsMy GamesSkyrim
6. Open that file and search for [Launcher] and add “bEnableFileSelection=1”. It’ll look something like this:
[Launcher]
bShowAllResolutions=0
uLastAspectRatio=2
So add that line so it looks like:
[Launcher]
bShowAllResolutions=0
uLastAspectRatio=2
bEnableFileSelection=1
Now the Data Files option will be un-greyed and selectable. Follow step 4.
7. Launch the game and go talk to any generic Skyrim Guard. They’ll give you a new quest item, Dawnguard, and you’ll get the screen popup of new quest added.
This is how it worked for me. Some people won’t have that greyed-out Data Files problem in steps 5-6, and it sounds like some people don’t need to talk to a guard but get the Dawnguard quest automatically.

Method 3:-* install UPDATE 9 = v1.6.90.0.6 (search at kat.ph)
* copy the files “Dawnguard.bsa” and “Dawnguard.esm” to your skyrim Data folder.
* initialize the “SkyrimLauncher.exe” and make sure that the Dawnguard DLC is checked in the Data menu window and start the game.
* If that option its greyed out, find the file “SkyrimPrefs.ini” in the skyrim install folder, open it in a notepad.exe and make sure this line exist and its equal to 1: “bEnableFileSelection=1”. if not, add it bellow the text “[Launcher]”.
Then go to My Documents/My Games/Skyrim folder, open the file “SkyrimPrefs.ini” and do the same thing again (may be in a different place if you have steam)
Note: unlike what is sometimes mention in the comments, you don’t need the latest patch version UPDATE 10 = v .1.7.7.0.6. I downloaded it from here: and i tried it on. It worked and didn’t crash, but it broked weapon functionality: swords, maces and bows didn’t work at all, and the dawnguard crossbow didn’t even show up. NPC dialogues were also screewd up.
Note 2: i have just checked here: and it seems that v1.7.13.0.6 was released in august 9 2012. i did not tried it yet.

Method 4:- 1. Back up your main Skyrim folder, just in case.
2. Before doing any copy-pasting, go to your save game folder (which is usually at My Documents/My Games/Skyrim) and open SkyrimPrefs. Find [Launcher](it should be between [BlurShader] and [Water]) and put bEnableFileSelection=1 right under it.
3. By now, the Data Files section at your launcher should be available.
4. Extract the downloaded torrent file. Inside, there is a folder named Skyrim in which there is another SkyrimPrefs. Delete the entire Skyrim folder in the extracted folder. Otherwise, it will prevent you from using the Data Files section.
5. Copy everything else in the extracted folder and paste them into your main Skyrim folder, overwriting the current files.
6. When finished, start your launcher and click “Data Files”. Dawnguard.esm should already been selected. If not, select it yourself.
7. Launch the game and enjoy.

TIP! IF DATA FILES GREYED DO NEXT:
follow next steps
-Locate SkyrimPrefs.ini file that should be under your My Games subfolder. For example, mine is located at:
C:UsersELOCKLORANMy DocumentsMy GamesSkyrim
Open that file and search for [Launcher] and add “bEnableFileSelection=1”. It’ll look something like this:
[Launcher]
bShowAllResolutions=0
uLastAspectRatio=2
So add that line so it looks like:
[Launcher]
bShowAllResolutions=0
uLastAspectRatio=2
bEnableFileSelection=1
Now the Data Files option will be un-greyed and selectable.

Need lvl 10 to start Downguard quest.

  1. So this is strange. I have Dawnguard in the Data folder, I added the "bEnable" thing into the prefs, and copied and pasted everything from the downloaded folder and replaced any necessary files. Now, when I start the launcher and go into Data Files, nothing is listed, not even Dawnguard.esa. When I try to launch the game through the launcher, the game won't launch. When I open TESV.exe, it crashes when the main menu shows, and when launch the SKSE version, it asks me to upgrade to the latest version of Skyrim. Is there any fix for this besides deleting the Dawnguard files and reverting back to the vanilla Skyrim?

  2. I've done what it says here, cant get it to work.. I do not know if it is a big deal, but in the skyrimprefs the text he says should be in there, is there. But the other 2 that he got under "Launcher" I do not have, i tried to write them in my skyrimprefs but it wouldn't work. I'm not even sure if this is the problem, only a suggestion. Please help me!
